GSN Premiere Day, WML?
Marathon, More...
9/02/01 - Game Show
Network premiered 4 new shows on
September 1st - Let's Make A Deal,
Press Your Luck, Who Dares
Wins, and The $1.98 Beauty Show.
Let's Make A Deal
is the classic wheeling-and dealing game.
Press Your Luck is the cult
favorite with those Whammies. Who
Dares Wins is a show that borders on
game and reality TV. Rip Taylor-hosted The
$1.98 Beauty Show is a Gongified
spoof of a beauty pageant.
Watch out September 9th
for the What's My Line? Weird
Work-A-Thon. Hosted by the Green Ball, he
will travel around the country and give
us a peek at some of the most unusual
jobs out there. And of course, there will
be episodes of WML? (mostly from the
Bruner-Blyden era) shown as well.
A somewhat-new layout
is up. This page is the only one up right
now. Due to school and so on, it will be
a while before much of anything else is
put up.
Press Your Luck, Others
Get GSN Treatment
8/16/01 - In what was
thought to be the unthinkable, Game Show
Network has obtained the rights from our
"friends" at Pearson to show Press
Your Luck. You can see all your
favorite Whammys "every day and
night" at 9:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 9:30 PM,
and 1:30 AM.
But that's not all. The
weekend will have some "new"
stuff for itself. GSN has obtained more
than 50 episodes of an Australian Fear
Factor clone Who Dares Wins.
From reports, it may be Fear Factor without
the gross moments. And it seems the music
clearance problems have been solved as
GSN digs up the infamous Rip
Taylor-hosted and Chuck Barris-produced $1.98
Beauty Contest for weekend viewing
as well.
GSN's New Schedule...One
Week Down
7/8/01 - As you know,
GSN changed its daily schedule almost
completely on July 2. Despite some
claims, we've all managed to survive. If
you're not up on the new schedule, click
"GSN Schedule" for the complete
listings. And feel free to post your
thoughts on the Message Board.
ARLENE
FRANCIS
1908-2001
6/3/01 - Arlene
Francis, the great woman of game shows,
passed away on Thursday after a long
battle with Alzheimer's Disease, as you
probably know. In tribute to Arlene
Francis, Game Show Network will have a
special WML? at 10:30 PM on Sunday, June
3 during its black-and-white block. Feel
free to post your thoughts on Arlene on
the message board.

Beverly's report in Arlene at Game Show
Convention by clicking the link below.
It's better than anything I could write.

Treasure Hunt and Fools
of April Marathons
4/8/01 - Seems GSN has
some treats this month with some
marathons. On the 14th, you'll get 8
episodes of Chuck Barris' "Treasure
Hunt" from 1981. On the 21st, get
ready for the Fools of April marathon,
hosted by Jimmie Walker, featuring 8
episodes of 8 shows featuring 8 top funny
fellows.
The G-T
Library Relaunches as Game Show Emporium
2/3/01 - Today, The
Goodson-Todman made a small relaunch as
The Game Show Emporium. The layout has
changed a little. It now not only
features information on Goodson-Todman,
but now also features information on
shows produced/packaged by Jack Barry
& Dan Enright. It also has changed
hosts and addresses. The new host is 50
Megs and the address is now http://game-shows.50megs.com
The webmaster,
Christopher (ILB4EVER_2000), stated
today: "On behalf of ILB Web Design
Inc., I hope classic game shows of all
kinds will be able to enjoy this site. I
also appreciate any feedback they have on
this relaunch."
